SUMMARY
This project focused on developing a key visual and packaging communication concept for Orion’s An Vừng grilled rice crackers, centered around the theme “Thơm Lừng Hương Quê” (Rich with the Aroma of Hometown).
The design brings to life the rustic essence of Vietnamese countryside culture through illustrated landscapes, traditional village elements, and warm earthy tones that evoke nostalgia and authenticity. The visual system harmoniously integrates product shots with hand-drawn rural scenery, reinforcing the brand’s connection to natural ingredients and traditional baking methods. The woven bamboo tray, scattered sesame seeds, and golden rice grains highlight the product’s core ingredients while enhancing appetite appeal.
Meanwhile, the charming mascot character adds approachability and strengthens brand memorability bridging modern retail presence with the comforting familiarity of Vietnam’s countryside heritage.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration for this project comes from the authentic process of traditional Vietnamese rice cracker making—where fire, rice, and time come together to create a flavor deeply rooted in hometown memories.
From the glowing wood-fired stove to the hand-poured rice batter drying under the sun on woven bamboo racks, every visual element reflects traditional know-how, patience, and heritage passed down through generations. We drew creative direction from the warmth of the kitchen fire, symbolizing dedication and care, and from the rustic textures of bamboo trays and old village houses that embody the soul of the countryside. The sun-drying process, captured through rows of golden crackers laid out in open air, represents natural simplicity and purity—free from industrial complexity, yet rich in tradition.
This project aims to translate those cultural and sensory experiences into a visual story that feels nostalgic, honest, and heartfelt—celebrating not just a product, but the spirit of Vietnamese rural life and the timeless aroma of home.
COMPLETION
The project was successfully completed with a cohesive visual identity that bridges traditional Vietnamese heritage and modern retail appeal.
From packaging refinement to key visual development, every touchpoint consistently delivered the core message: “Thơm lừng hương quê” — the authentic aroma of hometown flavors.The final execution integrated product hero shots, countryside illustrations, and rustic textures into a unified campaign system adaptable across POSM, digital platforms, and trade materials. The packaging design was optimized to stand out strongly on shelf with its vibrant yellow base while still preserving the warmth and nostalgia of rural Vietnam through illustrated landscapes and cultural characters.
By balancing emotional storytelling with strong product appetite appeal, the project successfully enhanced brand recognition, reinforced the product’s traditional positioning, and created a distinctive visual territory within the rice snack category.

The project stands out through its strong cultural storytelling, drawing inspiration from the Vietnamese countryside, traditional rice-making processes, and familiar rural imagery to evoke a sense of nostalgia and authenticity.
The design emphasizes strong appetite appeal with high-quality product visuals that highlight the crisp texture and golden color of the rice crackers, stimulating purchase desire. A bold yellow packaging base ensures strong shelf visibility, while heritage-inspired illustrations and friendly mascot characters add warmth, personality, and family-friendly charm.
The campaign also established a consistent and flexible visual system that can be applied across multiple touchpoints, successfully translating the message of “hometown aroma” into a compelling and commercially impactful brand presence.
